Pha Pah - Cloth Offering Ceremony (Kathina season)

Updated: Sep 4

We would like to invite everyone for Pha Pah during the kathina season at Skiptvet Buddhist Monastery.

On Sunday, the 12nd of October, we will host the traditional celebration to mark the end of the rain retreat.

For centuries, it has been customary for lay supporters to offer robe material and other requisites to the sangha who have spent the three months of the vassa in a monastery.

Event schedule

10:00 – All gather in the dāna sāla (main house).

10.30 – Rice Pindapat (alms-round).

11.00 – Meal offering, followed by a communal meal.

12.45 – All gather in the sāla (meditation hall).

13.00 – Pah pah ceremony followed by Dhamma talks from the senior monks (English and Thai)

14.00 – Blessing and closing the afternoon session.

All are warmly invited to join.

Please note that the program is subject to change as needed.
